Chapter XI - Flight (post 2)

It's been too long, and for that I apologize. A number of you have told me to take my time and make it good, and although I don't think that I've done so at proper proportions, I have certainly fulfilled the first half and I think I've hit the second half on the head as well. This isn't the rest of the chapter - it's becoming much longer than I'd planned it (a great deal more happens before the flight is over) - but it's another big chunk.
