I'm packing tonight, rolling out the door on a jet plane at 6:45 tomorrow morning, off to Blizzcon! Apparently, for going, Horse will now be able to turn into a murloc. Forum-ninja Heloly will be coming too, helping me out with the coverage. I didn't have as much time to focus on getting a kickass production together before I left - but most of the stuff I was gonna develop was back-end stuff you guys wouldn't've notice anyway, that like displayed every picture in a folder on a page or something. I'll be posting stuff by hand instead.

I'm going to be visiting a bunch of the panels at Blizzcon - check out the list here. I'll be trending heavily towards the lore ones, of course, but there's plenty of time to get to a number of them, and if there are any that you guys are particularly interested in hearing reporting from, or if you have any questions you want me to try to post to the panelists, you should let me know in this post's discussion thread, and I will do my dutiful best! I'm really excited for this, and excited to be your eyes and ears at Blizzcon.

I've got a couple of things for you guys right now, while you're waiting for Friday to roll around. The first thing is the first of the promised honorable mentions from the Blizzcon short-story contest. It's a missive on being Forsaken, by CRI, and it's called The Awakening. The Forsaken are one of my favorite literary thought experiments to come out of the Warcraft world (as my fondness for Rhy might suggest), and I like what he's done with it here. I almost want the story to go on from here - I think CRI has started something here that deserves more than 500 or 1500 words, and I'd like to see him continue it at some point.

The other thing is a great new bit of fan-art from fan-art rockstar Michellethemit. She's tackled Horse and Fang's Fight Club scene this time, and I think it came out great! You can gawk at it (and all my other fan-art... preciousss) here. (Michelle has posted an early snapshot of a commissioned piece set in Northrend - it's laid out suspiciously like a comic book, which is very exciting to me.)

And now back to packing, and then to sleep for five hours, and then to Blizzcon! I've got my laptop along for the ride, and with all that travel time, I might even be able to put the last couple of scenes together for the next chapter...
