In Honor of Saint Patrick

In honor of the patron saint of Ireland, in honor of his Day; in celebration of the bringing of Christianity to the Green Isle, and of the end of the tribal conflicts which wracked that isle since the dawn of times - I give you a bird in a green hat smoking a pipe! =D I think he rules.
Forum-muse Nevlonniel whipped it up for me - she's quite an adept photoshopper. She hasn't been around much lately (she shadowmelded! =]), but if you want a neat forum avatar or signature pic thinger created, she's got a standing offer to create just about anything you could want. A good half of the signature pic thingers on my forum are Nev's handiwork.
The bird itself is a sketch by my friend Meredith. She's aspiring to make a living as an artist, and (clearly) she's a damn good one. Hop over to her site and look around, and if you need a gift for a loved one's birthday, order up a charcoal portrait of said loved one! Or of you! Or of, like, a tree or something. Anyway, she's good.
So we all get to celebrate St. Patty's day with a bird in a green hat, but I'll do you one better: I'm goin' to Dublin! My school's spring break is next week, and me and some friends are flying out of JFK this Thursday evening, landing in the land of (many of) my ancestors at 1 PM the next day ready for some Real Irish Guinness. (If you've never had Guinness in Ireland, you've never had Guinness. trust.) After the weekend, we're flying to Holland to visit some friends of one of my friends for the rest of the week, so that should be fun. Holland is beautiful.
I've been working my tail off this week to get my schoolwork and workwork finished up before I leave; I'll be doing the same Wednesday night for my birdwork. I'll have story for you Thursday before we leave. It's still up in the air whether I'm going to have anything next week, but I will do my level best to get enough written tomorrow that I can bring it to Europe and post it up from an internet cafe or something.
And so in honor of the bringer of civilization to we the uncivilizable: Happy St. Patty's Day!
