Late Story, Same Reason

Hey folks, I'm still in the process of moving my entire life across state lines (again). This time it's getting everything back to my parents' house, because I'm not gonna be anywhere you could call "home" for a few months. Today was pack-up and move-out under the imperious eyes of my landlord - an unpleasant experience, although I did get my security deposit back. At any rate, the story will either be up by tomorrow evening (Friday) or it'll be Sunday. Sorry again everyone - life is hectic again.

Chapter Fifteen - All Of It

Today was miserable in Massachusetts - I woke up cold, and while I went through the arduous process of getting out of bed, it started pouring rain. My blessed boss gave me no work today - she'll never know how thankful I am - and I sat down and began typing. I'm ashamed to say that I had written exactly three words of the post, and although they did make it into the final chapter, they sure weren't brilliant or post-length.
Things have been going a little slowly since Horse arrived back in Under City, and so, when I realized that the first four pages of the chapter contained some of the densest exposition yet in the story (I truly hope it doesn't put anyone to sleep), I decided that it was only fair to you guys to push on through. So, starting from this morning's three words and through about nine nearly unbroken hours of writing, I present you with Chapter Fifteen, in toto.

because I'm moving. Also, saying goodbye to dozens of people that have been awesome all summer. I should have something up by the end of the weekend, so you monday morning checkers shouldn't have anything to worry about. To you weekend warriors, sorry. =(

It was asked on the forums this week if today's post would be super-exciting or if it'd be more sitting around and talking. In honor of that question, I literally sat our road-weary protagonist down in a comfy high-backed chair with a glass of bourbon for the purpose of receiving exposition. Today's post is entitled, Meanwhile, back in Lordaeron....

Horse is lifted bodily out of the water by his friend and mount, and they then tear off on a miles-long air-chase slash dogfight with two bone dragons, finally crash-landing into a tunnel beneath a closing gate and avoiding CERTAIN DEATH by mere meters! There are hundreds of unanswered questions, as well as news of a gigantic army of the dead massing on the land's western border to report to those in command, and what do I have Horse do next? Go to sleep. In my defense, I was myself mostly asleep when I came up with that genius plot point.
So the last few paragraphs of last week's post have mysteriously disappeared: Horse and Ordinn have just discussed Horse's recent failure with the pendant. More on Friday.
Thanks to those of you that sent your best wishes to my friend, I've passed them on and she's appreciative.

It's been suggested elsewhere by other people that internet audiences are singularly unsympathetic when it comes to personal-life excuses for missed deadlines and broken promises. I'm sorry for missing today, but I hope you folks will be kind enough to understand that a dear friend of mine lost her grandmother yesterday and I spent the day being there for her instead of writing. I'll have story posted as soon as I can.
For no other reason than because it sounds fun, I've got the following idea: to make up for missing today's story post, I'll answer a question about the story. I've got a list of three questions which I won't answer (I'll wait around for another question though), but other than those three, anything goes. You should all hop on the discussion thread and put your heads together and come up with that question, and in a couple days I'll swing by and answer it. If you have fun with this and it doesn't wind up being too dangerous for my crafty plotting, I might do it again in the future.
