Albatros doesn't mind the occasional post correcting mistakes. We kind of serve as editors. My first post was in response to the time on a newspost being off by over a half-century. Wink

Perhaps. I could go into detail about my thoughts on the matter, but it would be a long post and certainly derail the thread. If you so desire an explaination we can 'take it outside' as it were Wink

just remember that this story is a work-in-progress. as such, there will be mistakes and plot holes that need to be filled throughout the writing process, as long as the bird isn't scared to do things like that. what we usually read has been written, rewritted, edited, re-edited, reformatted, defragmented, rearranged, cut down, edited again, and finally published. albatros is doing the nearly impossible... writing a long story perfectly the first time.

That is exactly what is wrong with much of fiction today. Plus, I still don't agree that that process is anything close to what Albatros is undertaking here, and as such I would prefer to have as little impact as possible.

I doubt fixing minor typos impacts Albatros' life that much, I highly doubt he goes, "Oh no! Not another typo! I can't BELIEVE I misssed that 'as' instead of 'is!' I'm killing myself over this!" That'd be pretty over-reactive so, until he tells us otherwise, we help him in the final stage of editing: the post editing. Think of it this way, every mistake we catch he doesn't have to read through to catch himself.

And every mistake he doesn't have to read through to catch himself means more time he has to do other things, like write the next chapter. Wink Seriously though, we should be discussing things like how Horse's instructor seems intent on killing him (making him walk to the top of a very tall tree, nearly knocking him off, and now sending him on a quest deep underwater where failure means death).

Practices are bloodless battles and battles are bloody practices. If he gets use to nearly dieing a lot, he won't be so shaken next time it happens. Plus, she's training him to save the world so he'd better be able to do all this, else he's not worth it. Lastly, he can't die anyways, he's part of the Law.

I doubt that the Law would go to the trouble of getting Horse to join it and then kill him before he does anything.

True, but the law's agents are immortal, not invincible. As in, they can't die naturally but they can still be killed. Like the Night Elves before the Battle of Mount Hyjal. It just all seems a little funny, that's all.

I think that a force as powerful as the Law could prevent its agents from being killed.

Look clearly at this quote.

Quote:
The Law doesn’t lose its agents.

That means, The Law doesn't lose its agents. To anything, or anybody. In conclusion, Horse is gonna be fine.

But don't let that kill your suspense. The Law has been around for melinnia, but they've never had Horse in their ranks. It's different this time around.

Oh yea, it's still going to be suspenseful. I doubt Horse is going to want to 'die' down at the bottom of the ocean. Another thought here, I have a feeling that Law agents actually CAN die, they just get rezzed by Coreiel as a spirit healer and come back again. I'd imagin that to be very unpleasent indeed. Not to mention Horse probably hasn't thought of his immortality to the point of getting to the 'what if' stage yet.

oh, i can see it now:

Horse: "Hmm... I wonder what will happen if I jump off this cliff down eighty feet into a bed of jagged, razor sharp rocks? I know! I'll go and find out!"

*Jumps*

*Groans of pain*

Katy M: "WTF DID YOU DO NOW!?!? LERN2PLAY NOOB"
