I have been one serrated by the knife
I have walked out in pain and back in pain
I have outwalked the forrest, pretty rife
I had took down the fattest kid in Spain
I have passed by the watchman on his beat
and dropped my fries unwilling to be lame
I have stood still and stopped the sound of Fleet (R)
When far away an interrupted lie
Came over horses from an utter treat,
But not to call me "black" or "maple fry"
And murmur shrill at an unearthly strife,
One luminary clock begets the Why
Proclaimed the thyme had rather hung his wife -
I have been one serrated by the knife. |

http://quotations.about.com/cs/poemlyrics/a/Night.htm
The juices seeping from the breast,
Oh but the flesh is fine.
This bird has been plucked from its nest,
And now on it I dine.
The sauce in a cup,
Oh so sweet to sup.
My tongue does delight
To dine in the night.
Farewell greens and fruit from groves,
Now meat is my delight.
A haunch of lamb, a salted ham,
Are culinary height.
No more I pour dressing;
Such fare is depressing.
No, not bud or blossom,
But tender-cooked bosom.
I look in rows of wire nests,
The henhouse air is warm.
I see that they are cared for best;
Good meat will not see harm.
If any are cheeping
That should have been sleeping,
I take off their head
And serve them on bread. _________________ Just a thought. |
